Kathmandu homestay tour
The 218 sq miles of Kathmandu valley is booming with over 130 important monuments with 7 of them recognized as World heritage Sites by UNESCO. The valley comprises three historical cities with several villages surrounded by verdant hills renowned for the magnificent view of the Himalayas. The aboriginal people of Kathmandu are Newars. The suburb is domanited by Tamangs for long time. Now a days Kathmandu, is a melting pot of different culture practiced by its over hundred ethnic groups.
Our Kathmandu Homestay tour gives you an oppertunity of knowing Kathmandu from inside and outside. During the tour you will stay with local family and share an evening with the family members. The tour includes guided sightseeing of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan and beautiful hiking in a verdent hills around Kathmandu. You will stay at home of Newari family, Tamang village (community homestay) and the Chhetri (warrior cast) during the tour.
DAY 01: ARRIVE TO KATHMANDU, NEPAL
You will be received at airport by our representative holding your name plate. After formal meeting, you will drive to the Kopila's Homestay in the center of Kathmandu. Meet Kopila's family and rest. A traditional Nepalese meal with the family.
DAY 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast will be served in your mini kitchen, blcony or at the family kitchen as you wish. You will meet your guide and together you will go for Kathmandu sightseeing. An easy, relaxing day in a comfortable ride with a local guide will uncover totally different perspective of kathmandu. Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Shyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath. The car will drop you in Thamel from where you can easily walk back to the homestay.
DAY 03: PATAN AND BHAKTAPUR TOUR | HOMESTAY WITH NEWARI FAMILY
we will check out from Kopila's Homestay and go for Patan tour. Patan is Busshist dominant city believed to be the earliest settlement in Kathmandu valley. Patan is also known as Lalitpur, the city of fine art. After lunch, we will drive to Bhaktapur and check in Newari Homestay. Bhaktapur is known as 'The Living Museum' as it still retains its medieval fragrance. Tour around Bhaktapur and dine together with Newari family in the evening.
DAY 04: CHANGUNARAYAN - NAGARKOT HIKING (overnight in community homestay)
After breakfast with family, we will drive north to Changunarayan. Changunarayan is over 1,600 years old pagoda style temple sitting on a hillock with Himalayan view towards north. A easy, scenic hike along the ridge for about 4 hrs will take us to our community homestay in Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a hill station overlooking Himalayan peaks and lush valleys on the either side.
DAY 05: FINAL DEPARTURE OR BACK TO KOPILA'S HOMESTAY
